Once a week, Year 12 student Angus Riley takes on the lengthy trip to the Bunya Mountains to chase his dream of becoming a chef.
Angus is completing his in-school apprenticeship at the Bunyas Tavern, nestled among the tall pines of the Dandabah Picnic Area at the top of the Bunya Mountains.
While there, he is also working toward a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, aiming to one day run a kitchen of his own.
Angus said his time at the Bunya Tavern has been very instructive, with the young chef-in-the-making learning the ins and outs of a restaurant kitchen.
