Year 12 student Ruby Yarrow said she was unsure of what career to pursue after finishing school, hoping a stint in customer service could help her decide.
To that end, the Saint Mary's senior is completing a Certificate III in Retail while working at Kingaroy butcher Martoo Meats for one day a week.
While at the popular butcher shop, Ruby helms the counter, serving customers with a smile.
She said she enjoyed the friendly atmosphere at the shop, as well as the fact that the experience is helping her find her future career path.
"I'm just trying out what I can, and this is a good way to see if I really like it," Ruby said.
