Year 11 student Harriet Clevens is spending her time in Saint Mary's VET program by learning the ins and outs of running a successful hairdressing salon.
Harriet works at Kingaroy's Goldilocks Studio for one day a week while simultaneously achieving her Certificate III in Hairdressing.
The young go-getter gained the necessary skills to make it in the busy line of work by completing a Certificate II in Salon Assistant at TAFE while in Year 10.
Harriet wants to own her own hairdressing business one day - specifically dreaming of a mobile salon to allow her to travel around the region - but is currently hard at work getting all the experience she can.
While at Goldilocks, Harriet has learned that each client's needs and wishes are unique, meaning everyone who walks through the doors needs tailored care and attention.
"Things can affect a person's hair differently compared to another client," Harriet shared.
