Prep to Year 6
Page Content
Students in Prep to Year 6 are challenged to develop a love of learning through exploring learning experiences based on the nine Key Learning Areas - Religious Education, English, Mathematics, Science, History, The Arts, Technology, and Health and Physical Education. Literacy and Numeracy are the main focus of these year levels.
Saint Mary's Catholic College Prep focuses on establishing an environment that fosters a love of learning. This is achieved through the individual attention given to the specific needs of all children and the nature of their learning. Attention is given to supporting students in their smooth transition from home to school. The Early Years program is based on the Queensland Curriculum Early Years Guidelines and is presented in Prep to Year 2.
It is the aim of the College to assist each child to reach their personal potential. Active classroom environments encourage students to develop ownership of their learning within a supportive environment.
